Albania vs FYR Macedonia: Heavy rain forces Albania-Macedonia clash to be abandoned

Albania's World Cup qualifier with Macedonia was abandoned due to a waterlogged pitch with the game level at 1-1.

Armando Sadiku put Albania ahead inside 10 minutes when he received Elseid Hysaj's cross-field pass, turned back on to his right foot and produced a crisp low finish from the edge of the box.

Ergjan Alioski equalised in the 51st minute when he took on Berat Djimsiti and fired home low with his left foot from 20 yards.

But relentless rain at the Loro Borici Stadium in Shkoder forced the players off after 77 minutes and, with no let-up, they will have to return - reportedly on Tuesday - to complete the match.
