Barcelona chief confirms Premier League bid for defender: Liverpool wanted him
Lucas Digne was already the subject of a bid from England when Barcelona came in for him, according to a club official.

Digne completed a £13.8million move from Paris Saint-Germain to Barcelona in July.
The 23-year-old spent last season on loan at Roma making just 29 league appearances in two years at PSG.
But he was subsequently snapped up by Barca after being part of the France squad that reached the final of Euro 2016.
However, according to Barca technical secretary Robert Fernandez, the Spanish giants were not the only side interested in his services.
"PSG already had an offer from a good English team but when we got in touch with the manager told us that the player only wanted to come to Barcelona," Fernandez told Spanish newspaper Sport.
And according to the Mirror, it was Liverpool who were interested in bringing the France international to the Premier League.

Digne is said to have rejected Liverpool before joining Barcelona
Jurgen Klopp had already brought in Joel Matip but wanted to add another defender.
And when he did eventually bring in a defender he had to settle for Ragnar Klavan from Augsburg, while Fernandez was delighted to have secured the signature of Digne.
"Digne is a type similar to [fellow summer signing Samuel] Umtiti, eager to succeed here, with a more open character because he has already played in three teams while Umtiti has only played in Lyon.
"Samuel leaves a neighbourhood club like Lyon and is very young.
"They are different but equally mature character.
"Lucas is more travelled.
"And negotiating with PSG was not particularly difficult because they had already begun to negotiate with another team."
