Sampdoria 2 - 1 Atalanta: Two wins out of two for Sampdoria
Posted Monday, August 29, 2016 by PA
Sampdoria came from behind to make it two wins from two in Serie A with a 2-1 victory over 10-man Atalanta.
Samp were a goal down in the first period but had turned it around before the break to follow up their opening-day win at Empoli with another three points.
They had to do it the hard way when Franck Kessie gave the visitors a 27th-minute lead by rifling home from a free-kick the home side failed to clear.
Kessie's third goal in two games was cancelled out by Fabio Quagliarella's penalty, awarded after Luis Muriel was fouled by Cristian Raimondi, and Muriel then provided the cross for Edgar Barreto's headed winner, which came moments after Carlos Carmona was dismissed for a second caution.
