Ayr have just one absentee as they go in search of their first win since being promoted to the Ladbrokes Championship against St Mirren.

Only forward Craig Moore is unavailable to manager Ian McCall due to a head knock.

McCall, who is trying to bolster his squad with a new recruit, said: "It is disappointing not to have picked up any points as yet, however we saw enough in the second half at Dundee United last weekend to be pleased.

"We were the dominant side for half an hour of that game and that gives us plenty to build on for the visit of a St Mirren side that are also looking for their first win."

St Mirren are without Rocco Quinn due to a knee injury but Ben Gordon, Gary MacKenzie and Jordan Stewart could be involved after playing for the Paisley club's under-20 side in a midweek match.

Manager Alex Rae said: "I was pleased with how the players battled away against Hibs last weekend however we lost a really soft second goal and never threatened them enough.

"That is why we lost 2-0 but hopefully we will improve in the right areas for what will be a really tough game.

"Like us Ayr will be looking for their first success and this will be a typically well-contested Championship game."
