Stenhousemuir vs Airdrieonians - Vinnie Berry ruled out of Stenhousemuir clash with Airdrie

Stenhousemuir manager Brown Ferguson will be without Vinnie Berry against visitors Airdrie due to a hamstring injury.

Jim Paterson remains out with a back problem but Ciaran Summers is available after a knock.

Ferguson said: "We need to start being stronger defensively and if we do that we can start winning games.

"We gave a couple of goals away at Livingston last weekend and that gave us a mountain to climb before losing 4-1. If we can be stronger defensively then things will start going for us.

"Airdrie will be a challenge but we are at home and determined to get our points tally off and running."

Airdrie have an injury doubt over striker Kevin Schmidt and Jack Leitch can no longer be used as a trialist as he has played the three games he is allowed.

Head coach Kevin McBride said: "We did well to pick up a win last weekend in a game where we were pushed all the way by Stranraer. I expect Stenhousemuir to be similarly tough opponents as they showed in the Betfred Cup recently.

"They have a good manager and a good squad and results will come so we need to be on our guard. If we are as tight defensively as we were last weekend then we can win."
