East Fife vs Brechin City - East Fife set to face Brechin with weakened side

Posted Friday, August 26, 2016 by PA

East Fife could be short on numbers for the visit of Brechin City.

Pat Slattery and Chris Duggan have been ruled out with hamstring injuries while player/manager Gary Naysmith and Kevin Smith are both rated as extremely doubtful.

Naysmith said: "Brechin have been a strong side throughout 2016 and I would prefer to be facing them with a full squad. They won their last away game at Albion Rovers and will be targeting another three points here.

"We lost to Alloa last weekend however we took a lot of credit from the game. If we play as well as we can then we can win this one."

Brechin City player/manager Darren Dods has a full squad to choose from as the Glebe Park side look to keep in touch with joint leaders Livingston and Alloa.

Dods said: "It was disappointing to drop points at home to Queen's Park last weekend but to be fair to them they were really well organised and never gave us much of an opportunity to break them down.

"We move on to East Fife and they will be another team to get the better of. They lost to Alloa last weekend but their manager has built a tough mentality into them and they will be looking to bounce back."
