Sheffield United vs Oxford United - John Fleck set for Sheffield United return

Posted Friday, August 26, 2016 by PA

Midfielder John Fleck could return to action as Sheffield United chase their first league win of the season against Oxford.

Fleck, a summer signing from Coventry, missed last week's defeat at Millwall due to a groin strain but boss Chris Wilder expects him to be fit.

Stefan Scougall scored for the Blades at Millwall after stepping in for Fleck and Wilder must decide whether to accommodate both players as he ponders changes.

Striker Marc McNulty and winger Harry Chapman are still waiting for their first starts, while Simon Moore is likely to continue in goal in place of George Long following his arrival last week from Cardiff.

Midfielder Ryan Ledson is immediately available to Oxford manager Michael Appleton after signing from Everton for an undisclosed fee on Thursday.

Phil Edwards will press Sam Long for the right-back berth after Edwards was cup-tied for Tuesday's EFL Cup defeat to Brighton.

Fellow defender Curtis Nelson is still out for a few weeks with a foot injury.

Christian Ribeiro (ankle) and Rob Hall (knee) are longer-term absentees.
