Leyton Orient vs Mansfield Town - Orient hope for Jay Simpson return against Mansfield

Leyton Orient boss Andy Hessenthaler will hope to have striker Jay Simpson back at his disposal for the Sky Bet League Two encounter with Mansfield.

Last season's leading scorer missed the 2-1 victory at Grimsby with a back injury on a day when Hessenthaler was only able to name six substitutes.

Simpson's absence prompted the only change to the team which had beaten Stevenage 3-0 in its previous outing, with Jordan Bowery taking his place.

However, Ollie Palmer, who has only been used as a substitute in the last two games, is pushing for a start after scoring what proved to be the winning goal within five minutes of his introduction at Blundell Park.

Chris Clements has added to Mansfield injury problems ahead of the trip to London.

Clements has been nursing a sore hamstring since the defeat to Plymouth last weekend, although he completed the game at Home Park, and the midfielder is being monitored.

Goalkeeper Scott Shearer is also being assessed following a concussion but Jack Thomas will definitely miss out with his groin strain while Danny Rose is still suspended.

Krystian Pearce and Pat Hoban are training again after pre-season knocks but could probably only hope for a place on the bench.
