Following the renewals of Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo and Martin Odegaard, Real Madrid will turn their attention to tying down Luka Modric.
The Croatian midfielder has become an influential figure in the past few seasons at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu but has just two years remaining on his current contract.
All three of the European champions' recent coaches - Carlo Ancelotti, Rafael Benitez and Zinedine Zidane - have made Modric a focal point of their line-ups.
And Real president Florentino Perez is keen to safeguard the former Tottenham playmaker's future for several years despite him turning 31 on September 9.
