Raith Rovers 2 - 0 Dunfermline: Three in a row for Raith
Posted Sunday, August 21, 2016 by PA
Raith Rovers made it three Scottish Championship wins from three as two goals in eight second-half minutes gave them a 2-0 victory over visiting Dunfermline.
Dunfermline dominated a goalless first half, Rhys McCabe shooting just over early on, although visiting keeper David Hutton was forced into a fine save from Lewis Vaughan's free-kick 10 minutes before the break.
The visitors almost went ahead midway through the second period shortly before Bobby Barr's left-footed effort found the bottom-right corner from the edge of the box.
With 11 minutes to go Mark Stewart doubled the lead with a right-footed finish from a central position that found the top-left corner as Rovers stayed top of the fledgling table.
