St. Mirren vs Hibernian FC - Two out, two in for St Mirren

Posted Friday, August 19, 2016 by PA

St Mirren looks set to be without Rocco Quinn and Calum Gallagher against Hibernian.

Quinn has a knee injury and Gallagher is nursing a knock but Saints boss Alex Rae can add Ben Gordon and Gary McKenzie to his squad.

Rae is looking for his side to perform better than last weekend when they went down 3-1 to Raith.

He said: "I was disappointed at the performance and the goals that we lost. We got back into things late on but it was too late.

"We will however look to do better against a strong Hibs side that have strengthened further this week by bringing in a player from the English Championship."

Hibs look set to hand Andrew Shinnie a debut after his loan move from Birmingham was completed but new goalkeeper Ofir Marciano continues to be unavailable due to work permit issues.

Injuries have ruled out Liam Fontaine (calf), Fraser Fyvie (knee) and Danny Handling (knee) but James Keatings is expected to be fit despite an ankle knock.

"It is an away game and it will be tough as all away games in this league are," said Hibs boss Neil Lennon. "St Mirren will be well organised and competitive but we have started the season well and will look for that to continue."
