New striker Chris Long could make his Fleetwood debut against Oxford at Highbury.
The Burnley loanee has not played a senior game since last January but Cod Army boss Uwe Rosler is confident that he is fit enough to feature having undergone a pre-season under Sean Dyche's watch.
Rosler also acquired George Glendon from Manchester City on loan until January at the weekend, though Rosler is cautious about introducing him to the rigours of League One football too soon.
Rosler reported no fresh injury issues from the 2-2 draw with Scunthorpe at the weekend, and Eggert Jonsson lasted 90 minutes having been given the all-clear from medics over a foot injury.
Oxford will be without Sam Long for their trip to Fleetwood on Wednesday night.
The defender was sent off for a second bookable offence during the U's 2-1 defeat against Bristol Rovers on Sunday.
Forward Wes Thomas is rated at 50/50 for the game having struggled with tightness in his groin after his missed Oxford's defeat at the Memorial Stadium while Chey Dunkley remains a doubt with a hamstring problem.
Rob Hall (knee) and Christian Ribiero (ankle) are long-term absentees.
