Carlisle vs Cheltenham Town - Shaun Brisley sidelined for Carlisle

Posted Monday, August 15, 2016 by PA

Carlisle defender Shaun Brisley is expected to sit out once again for the visit of Cheltenham.

The summer signing has yet to feature due to an ankle injury and is unlikely to be risked.

But last year's top scorer Jabo Ibehre managed his first 20 minutes of the season in Saturday's 1-0 win over Plymouth and is pushing for a start.

Centre-half Michael Raynes has been linked with a move away but will continue to play until something concrete emerges.

Dan Holman will be fit for Cheltenham despite leaving Mansfield on Saturday on crutches.

The striker suffered a toe injury during the 1-1 draw at the One Call Stadium but tests have showed it to be nothing more than bruising.

Holman being available means Robins boss Gary Johnson will have extended options to choose from after Asa Hall returned to the squad against the Stags and James Dayton (ankle) is fit again.

Club captain Aaron Downes is still out with an anterior cruciate ligament injury while midfielders Jack Munns (knee) and Kyle Storer (suspended) also remain sidelined.
