Stranraer vs Alloa Athletic - Craig Thomson set for Stranraer debut

Stranraer have added Craig Thomson on loan from St Johnstone and the winger is in line for his debut against in-form Alloa at Stair Park.

The Blues also have Ryan Thomson and Willie Gibson back from bans, however Smart Osadolor has dropped out after joining East Kilbride.

Manager Brian Reid said: "Alloa are quite rightly getting plenty of plaudits at the moment as they have had a terrific start to the season.

"We are determined to bounce back from losing 5-1 to Livingston even though the scoreline was really harsh. A poor start cost us and we need to be ready from the first whistle in this one."

Alloa, who defeated Premiership club Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the Betfred Cup during the week, miss only Jamie Longworth who has a hand injury.

Manager Jack Ross said: "We played well on Tuesday night and the players also showed a high degree of resilience as Inverness looked to push us back.

"We restricted them to very few chances and put in a performance that the players can be proud of.

"Stranraer were one of the top sides in this league last season and they will have been disappointed at losing to Livingston. They will be looking to get good home form established quickly so this will be another tough afternoon."
