Coventry vs Shrewsbury Town - Coventry without the suspended Chris McCann for clash with Shrewsbury

New signing Chris McCann must wait for his Coventry debut as he completes a suspension against Shrewsbury.

The midfielder, on loan from Atlanta United until December, was sent off for Wigan at the end of last season and his ban has rolled into this campaign.

Defender Chris Stokes will miss the first few weeks of the season with a knee injury.

Stokes suffered the problem in March and has had complications in his recovery meaning he remains unavailable for boss Tony Mowbray.

Shrewsbury have doubts over a trio of players ahead of their trip to the Ricoh Arena.

Shaun Whalley, Louis Dodds and AJ Leitch-Smith missed training with knocks on Thursday and boss Micky Mellon will assess their fitness as Town look for their first league win of the season.

Should Leitch-Smith fail to make it then Newcastle loanee Ivan Toney stands by to make his full debut after his bow as a substitute in the 2-1 EFL Cup win over Huddersfield on Tuesday.

Andy Mangan and new signing Ollie Lancashire are pushing to start after being on the bench in midweek.
