Lazaar reveals interest from Marseille

Palermo left-back Achraf Lazaar would be interested in a move to Marseille after revealing that the French club are keen on acquiring his signature.
The Morocco international has been a regular starter for the Rosanero over the past two seasons after helping them gain promotion to Serie A during a six-month loan spell from Varese in 2014.
Lazaar was subsequently signed by the Sicilians on a permanent basis ahead of the 2014/15 campaign and has racked up 59 league appearances since then.
L’OM manager Franck Passi is still looking to bolster his defensive options, despite bringing in left-back Henri Bedimo from Ligue 1 rivals Lyon recently, with the Mediterranean outfit having shipped 42 goals in the top flight last term to finish just eight points above the relegation zone in 13th place.
“It’s true that Marseille is interested [in signing me],” the 24-year-old told Footmercato after being linked with a switch to France at Stade Velodrome.
“It would be interesting but if I have to leave Palermo, it will have to be a choice that allows me to move to a higher level, to the next level. Palermo is a great club. A great team.”
