Liverpool star has 24 hours to decide future: Jurgen Klopp could reluctantly sell

The Daily Mail report the Brazilian will give Jurgen Klopp his decision on Tuesday evening.

Lucas is concerned about a potential lack of first-team football with the amount of options Liverpool have in that area of the pitch.

And Galatasaray president Levent Nazifoglu confirmed the club are still in negotiations with the 29-year-old.

"We've spoken personally with Lucas Leiva,” he said. “He asked for one more day. The situation will be clearer by tonight.”

Lucas made 40 appearances in all competitions for Liverpool last season, ably filling the void left by the injured Jordan Henderson.

Klopp is a big fan of the Reds midfielder but accepts he may have to let him leave as Galatasaray can offer him guaranteed first-team football.

The Turkish side have been in regular contact with Liverpool all summer as they look to add quality to their squad.

The Merseyside outfit have a packed midfield following the arrivals of Sadio Mane and Georginio Wijnaldum from Southampton and Newcastle.

Add Adam Lallana, Henderson, James Milner, Emre Can and Philippe Coutinho to the mix and Klopp is spoilt for choice in the middle of the park.

Liverpool start the new Premier League campaign with a trip to the Emirates to face Arsenal this Sunday.
