MANCHESTER CITY boss Pep Guardiola will return to his former club Barcelona for goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen after deciding Joe Hart is not good enough to be his No1.

Hart has faced an uncertain future since Guardiola’s appointment, with the Spaniard’s lieutenants quickly identifying weaknesses in the England keeper’s game – and his performances at Euro 2016 did not reassure them.

He was given intensive training on his distribution during City’s pre-season tour of China, one the key areas that Guardiola believed Hart needed to work on.

The City boss has been tracking Ter Stegen, 24, since the end of last season with the German international unhappy at not being first choice at the Nou Camp.

Barca are believed to be ready to allow Ter Stegen to leave but are demanding City meet the £67million release clause.

City could claw back some of the money by selling Hart to Everton.

Meanwhile, City have completed the signing of Colombia forward Marlos Moreno on a five-year deal.

The 19-year-old becomes Guardiola's sixth signing of the summer following the arrivals of Ilkay Gundogan, Leroy Sane, Aaron Mooy, Nolito and Alexander Zinchenko.
