Falkirk 1 - 2 Hibernian FC: Jason Cummings strikes twice to earn Hibernian victory at Falkirk
Posted Sunday, August 07, 2016 by PA
Jason Cummings' brace sunk Falkirk as Hibernian won 2-1 in the Ladbrokes Championship.
In a battle between last year's highest finishers behind Rangers, the visitors stunned their rivals in only the second minute. James Keatings was denied by goalkeeper Danny Rogers, but Cummings snapped up the rebound to net from close range.
Peter Houston's men responded quickly, and Craig Sibbald sent Falkirk Stadium into raptures with a ninth-minute volley that found the net from 25 yards.
Neil Lennon's league debut as Hibernian boss saw Cummings grab the winner just after half-time. Grant Holt lofted over a tricky long ball, and the striker controlled and finished with customary flair.
