Dundee United vs Queen of South - Dundee United end McAllister interest

Dundee United decided not to pursue the signature of Peterhead striker Rory McAllister and have a couple of players missing for their clash with Queen of the South at Tannadice.

Scott Fraser misses out through suspension, while Paul Dixon is struggling with a knee injury.

Manager Ray McKinnon said: "I know Queen's well from my time at Raith Rovers last season and they are a good side. They have made a few changes and bringing in Stephen Dobbie is a great signing for them.

"I was happy with a very good performance against Dunfermline last Sunday in the Betfred Cup and I want a similar performance in this game."

Goalkeepers Jim Atkinson and Robbie Thomson are injury doubts for Queen of the South.

Dobbie is included in the squad but may have to be satisfied with a place on the bench.

Manager Gavin Skelton said: "Dundee United are very ambitious and plan to bounce straight back to the Premiership. They have brought in Ray McKinnon who did very well last season as the manager of Raith Rovers and when I watched them last weekend against Dunfermline I thought they were very impressive.

"They will see this game as an opportunity to get off to a flying start. However, we will concentrate on ourselves and see where that takes us."
