Cheltenham Town vs Leyton Orient - Aaron Downes to miss out for Cheltenham
Posted Friday, August 05, 2016 by PA
Cheltenham manager Gary Johnson remains without injured club captain Aaron Downes for the visit of Leyton Orient.
Downes has been out with an anterior cruciate ligament injury since January. Jack Munns has also been ruled out and also because of a knee injury.
James Dayton faces a late fitness test, but Johnson has new signings from which to choose.
Danny Whitehead, Daniel O'Shaughnessy, Easah Suliman and Russell Griffiths will all go straight into the manager's squad.
Orient boss Andy Hessenthaler, meanwhile, could be without a number of players for the trip.
O's captain Robbie Weir suffered a knee problem against Dagenham and Redbridge during their pre-season friendly last week. Weir also missed the friendly against Gillingham due to sickness and is a doubt.
Summer arrivals Liam Kelly and Callum Kennedy are also struggling through injury.
Sean Clohessy remains questionable to start but League Two golden boot winner Jay Simpson is fit.
