Journalist Duncan Castles, who has contact with United boss Jose Mourinho's agent Jorge Mendes, says that the deal is now done.

Pogba's mooted return to Old Trafford has rumbled on all summer, with Mourinho desperate to the French midfield star as part of his Red Devils revolution.

And it appears that he has now got his man – after hinting that he was close to getting the deal over the line when asked about Pogba ahead of Wayne Rooney's testimonial earlier tonight.

Mourinho said: "I don't want to speak about Paul because he is a Juventus player, but the reality is we are going to sign one more player.

"Ideally we want to do that as soon as possible in this window but we have plenty of time to do that before it closes."

Pogba left Old Trafford for a paltry £800,000 in 2012.

But he is believed to have now rubber-stamped his return to join up with the likes of former team-mates Rooney, Michael Carrick, Adnan Januzaj, Chris Smalling and Antonio Valencia.

Mourinho has already secured the signings of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly this summer ahead of United's Prem kick-off against Bournemouth next weekend.
