David Moyes is confident of signing players for Sunderland - and still wants two Man United players
Sunderland have yet to sign a single player this summer after being hit by England poaching Sam Allardyce.
The new Black Cats manager confirmed his interest in Manchester United pair Marouane Fellaini and Adnan Januzaj earlier this week and also fancies Burnley striker Andre Gray.
But Moyes is also determined to replicate his transfer policy at Everton where he signed the likes of Phil Jagielka, Leighton Baines and Tim Cahill for knockdown fees.
“I would argue I had the best recruitment in the Premier League’s history at Everton if you look at the players we brought in for the money we had,” he said.
“We have to find players who will become future internationals like Leighton Baines and Phil Jagielka. I would like to follow a similar path here.”
Moyes plans to concentrate on the domestic market, he is also hoping his year in Spain as Real Sociedad boss can help Sunderland during the transfer window.
“It was a great experience and I got to see a different culture,” said the Scot. “I came up against the best teams in the world and arguably the best players and I hope to be able to use that.
“And my contacts in Spain have certainly much improved since I’ve been out there.”
