Berghuis joins Feyenoord on loan
Steven Berghuis has joined Feyenoord on loan from Watford for the 2016/17 campaign, the Eredivisie club have revealed.

The Netherlands international has returned to his homeland after only one season in England with the Hornets.

Berghuis joined the Premier League outfit from AZ Alkmaar in 2015 but was limited to just 11 appearances. Watford will continue to monitor his progress at De Kuip where he is expected to continue his development with regular game-time.

The Rotterdam giants qualified for this season's Europa League group stages, meaning the 24-year-old winger should have plenty of opportunities to hone his undoubted talents.

Berghuis passed his medical on Monday with Feyenoord technical director Martin van Geel expressing his delight at the signing.

"We have been looking to strengthen the attack for a while now and we are delighted that we have been able to add Steven to our squad," Van Geel said.

"Steven is a player with a lot of creativity, who's excellent with his feet and has plenty of goals in him. His arrival is widely supported at the club. We are confident he makes Feyenoord stronger."
