VfL Wolfsburg have confirmed the signing of Poland international Jakub Blaszczykowski from Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund.
The 30-year-old winger spent last season on loan with Fiorentina in Serie A and also played a starring role for Poland at the Euro 2016 tournament in France.
The long-time former Dortmund star chipped in with two goals and an assist as Poland reached the quarterfinal stage. Wolfsburg coach Dieter Hecking expressed his delight with the signing of a player of Blaszczykowski's quality.
He told the Bundesliga's official website: "He significantly increases our flexibility in terms of attacks on the right-hand side of the pitch. He is an enormous benefit to the team."
Blaszczykowski played nearly 200 games for Dortmund since 2007 and won back-to-back Bundesliga titles in 2010/11 and 2011/12 while Jurgen Klopp was in charge. The midfielder, nicknamed 'Kuba', has signed a deal that runs until 2019.
