Emery admits Manchester United target Matuidi could leave PSG this summer

Paris Saint-Germain manager Unai Emery has suggested that Manchester United target Blaise Matuidi could leave the club this summer.
Matuidi, who was a key part of the France side that reached the final of Euro 2016, has been linked with a move away from PSG. Furthermore, Squawka understand that Man United are interested in signing the no.14 star should they fail in their pursuit of Juventus star Paul Pogba.
Emery has now given United hope that they could sign Matuidi this summer by suggesting that the 29-year-old could be allowed to move on.
As reported by Manchester Evening News, Emery said: "He is a very good player.
"We have a lot of left-footed defensive midfielders. If he has the opportunity to leave and if he thinks there are too many midfielders here... But I do not want him to go."
United have been strongly linked with a move to re-sign Paul Pogba from Juventus, and, if that deal comes to fruition, it appears unlikely that the club will make another major signing in the same summer.
However, if United fail to sign Pogba then there surely must be enough money available to snap up Matuidi, who registered an average pass accuracy of 90% at Euro 2016.
United have made three signings so far in this transfer window, with the club having secured deals for Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Eric Bailly.
Mourinho's side get their Premier League season underway with an away game against Bournemouth next month and they will hope to have made their much-discussed fourth signing by that point.
