FC Bayern München have jetted out to the United States to take part in the International Champions Cup – a pre-season tournament also featuring AC Milan, Inter Milan and Real Madrid.
The German champions' first assignment is against AC Milan in Chicago on 28 July. Two days later they take on Inter in Charlotte before a battle with Real Madrid in New York City on 4 August.
The tournament has become something of a showpiece international pre-season event since its inception in 2013. It will be the first time Bayern have taken part, and millions across the globe are expected to follow proceedings with interest.
Bayern are taking a competitive squad to America, although Robert Lewandowski, Kingsley Coman and Renato Sanches are absent as they recuperate from the recently complete Euro 2016 tournament.
Arjen Robben and Douglas Costa also won't take part due to injury.
Nonetheless, Bayern captain Philipp Lahm insists the club will be ready for the challenge ahead.
He told the club's official website: "We want to be good representatives of our club, our country and the Bundesliga a long way from home.
"It'll be an intense and interesting trip."
