Bielsa explains Lazio U-turn

Marcelo Bielsa has explained his shock decision to part ways with Lazio just two days after linking up with the Serie A outfit.
The well-travelled coach set tongues wagging during the week when he decided to depart Stadio Olimpico prior to the start of the club's pre-season training camp.
And the Argentine coach, nicknamed "El Loco", has now lifted the lid on the series of events that ultimately prompted him to go back on his decision to manage Lazio.
Bielsa claims he was made certain assurances by club owner and president Claudio Lotito that ultimately did not come to fruition.
"It was agreed, as an essential condition to the implementation of the work programme, that we would sign at least four footballers before July 5, with the aim that they would participate in pre-season training," Bielsa said in a letter sent to the Serie A club, as reported by the Argentine media on Saturday.
"To this date, not one player has been signed. For my method of working we needed to have these players arrive in a timely manner to train."
Following the news of Bielsa's Lazio departure, the former Marseille boss has been linked with the vacant Argentina post.
However, he insists he currently does not have any offers on the table, stating he has "no other work offer in hand".
