Vestergaard determined to prove his worth

New VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach signing Jannik Vestergaard reveals he is settling in well at the club and is keen to earn his place in the first team for the upcoming season.
Vestergaard has substantial experience in the Bundesliga, having been virtually ever-present for Werder Bremen last season and was a regular for TSG 1899 Hoffenheim before that.
The Denmark international is impressed with what he has seen so far and feels he has already settled in well to his new surroundings.
"I already know a few of the lads. That has made what was already a problem-free period of adaptation at Gladbach even easier and has helped me learn the unwritten rules of the dressing room quicker than I would have done otherwise," he told the official Bundesliga website.
The defender is also aware of the qualify in the squad and doesn't expect to walk straight into the first team.
"Borussia is a club that has been superbly run for a number of years," he added. "They have a very young team that plays great football. I'd like to find out if I can keep up at this level and make the next step in my development.
"I'd like to work my way up to Gladbach's level and show what I'm capable of. Obviously I'd like to play as much as possible, but in order to do so you have to work hard every day."
