Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has ruled out a possible return to the Eredivisie during the current transfer window by committing his future to FC Schalke 04.
The Netherlands international was linked with a move back to Ajax Amsterdam in recent weeks, but after initially claiming he'd be open to returning to the Amsterdam Arena, Huntelaar has now backtracked his statement about wanting to leave the Royal Blues.
"There was nothing to decide, I have an ongoing contract," he told Sport Bild. "Anything else has never been discussed. I'll stay at Schalke.
"I am happy at Schalke, it has become my club abroad. I've been here so long now and want to continue and play as much as possible."
Since joining the Bundesliga club from AC Milan in 2012, Huntelaar has scored 121 goals in 216 appearances.
