World Champions Germany have impressed so far, but surprise packets Italy have looked even better and knocked holders Spain out in the last round.

And Low all but said tonight's clash is the real final when he said: "There is still a long way to go, but of course the winners of this match might be the favourites for the title.

"Yes, we could become champions abut there are other sides still in it too and Italy and France will have the same goals as us.

"Both Italy and us have the ability but we have to focus on this game first."

The winners are likely to face France in the last four if the host side don't do an England and lose to Iceland's shock troops.

But Germany have never beaten Italy in a major tournament match and Low added: "We have prepared for every eventuality in defence and attack and the players know what to expect and how to do their jobs."

Arsenal and Germany midfielder Mesut Ozil added: "It is a compliment that Antonio Conte has said we are a complete team and now we want to show that our history against Italy in tournaments doesn't count.

"The most important thing is to win and do what the manager says. We have the pedigree to beat any team and we want to show that."
