£10m ex-Man United defender on radar of Leicester City

After making just five appearances for Manchester United in four years, centre-back Michael Keane was more than happy to accept a permanent move to Burnley for the sake of more playing time. But now he has an opportunity to potentially play in the Champions League next year.

According to the Express, Leicester City are interested in Michael Keane and are lining up a £10 million bid to get him on a permanent move from Burnley. He reportedly has two years left on his current deal with the Championship division winners.

Keane played 44 of 46 Championship matches for the club this past year and scored five goals as the team earned promotion to the Premier League.

The 23-year-old centre-back played for Leicester City on a loan spell during the 2012-13 season back when they were still in the Championship. During that season he made 22 league appearances and scored two goals.

However, he did not make his debut in the Premier League until the 2014-15 campaign with Manchester United. He was later loaned to Burnley and joined the team permanently mid-season.

Per the source, Keane is seen as a potential challenger for either of the centre-back roles held by veteran defenders Wes Morgan and Robert Huth.
