Barcelona concern as three clubs willing to meet superstar’s €200m release clause

According to the agent of Neymar, three clubs are willing to meet the Barcelona star’s mammoth €200m release clause.

The Brazilian enjoyed another impressive season at the Nou Camp last year, and will now be focusing on preparing for the Rio Olympics later this summer.

However, his club future has become a topic of discussion after his agent has suggested that three clubs have the requisite finances to sign him despite the release clause currently in place.

"Today, there are three big clubs in the world who want to sign Neymar and pay the clause of €200million to Barcelona," Wagner Ribeiro said, according to Marca.

"I can’t say anything else, because it’s a sensitive subject."

The 24-year-old scored 31 goals and provided 27 assists in 49 appearances in all competitions last season, but did come under fire in the middle part of the campaign during a goal drought as Barcelona struggled.

Nevertheless, he remains an important part of their team along with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez as their star-studded attacking trident, but it remains to be seen whether or not the Catalan giants are tempted into selling if the claims from Ribeiro are true.

It is widely acknowledged that Paris Saint-Germain are likely to be one of the three teams mentioned, as ultimately they are one of few clubs in Europe with the financial strength to launch such a bid.

It’s unclear at this stage as to who the other two clubs might be, but it certainly looks as though Barca will have a decision to make this summer in terms of whether or not they ease their financial position or keep all the same pieces in place to allow Luis Enrique’s side to flourish.
