Neymar backs Brazil teammates after shock Copa America exit

If Brazil aren't a one-man team, they can't be far off it.

Neymar was forced to sit out of this summer's Copa America after Barcelona successfully struck a deal with the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF).

The CBF agreed to Barcelona's request that Neymar could only play in one of the Copa America or the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Chances are they're regretting that agreement today.

Following their 1-0 defeat to Peru, the Seleção find themselves knocked out of the Copa America at the group stages - a complete humiliation for Dunga and his players.

Despite an emphatic 7-1 victory over minnows Haiti last week, Brazil failed to seal enough points to secure a top-two finish in Group B. Peru and Ecuador, who held Dunga's men to a 0-0 draw in the opening round of fixtures, progress to the knockout stages.

NEYMAR'S INSTAGRAM POST

Rather than stay quiet, Neymar - in his role as Brazil's captain - has defended his compatriots via a strongly-worded post on Instagram.

On the aforementioned post he's told all of Brazil's critics who are talking "s***" about the national team that they can "go to hell".

"No one knows what we have suffered through to be there and defend the Selecao," Neymar wrote, alongside a photo of Brazil's Copa America team, per ESPN. "To wear the national team shirt is an honor and you have all done that with love. Now a whole lot of people are going to start talking s---, they can go to hell. Football is like this. I am Brazilian and I will go to the end with you."

DUNGA NOT WORRIED ABOUT THE SACK

Note the lack of words for Dunga, who is now expected to be sacked by the CBF.

The World Cup winner, however, told reporters after the match that he isn't worried about losing his job.

"The president of the federation knows what we do and how we work," he was quoted as saying by Goal. "When you work for the Brazilian team, you know very well that the criticism will intensify when results do not come.

"In Brazil we want everything to change in two minutes, but in football you must be patient.

"I do not fear dismissal, I am only afraid of death."
