PEC Zwolle have officially completed the signing of Feyenoord forward Anass Achahbar on a four-year deal.
The 22-year-old had one year left on his current deal at his boyhood club, but decided to leave Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side after failing to command a regular starting berth this past season.
Achahbar, once considered as a future star of Dutch football, has seen his career stall over the past few seasons, and he is now focused on doing well for his new club.
"After positive discussions with technical director Gerard Nijkamp and coach Ron Jans was the choice made quickly choose PEC Zwolle," he told the club's official website.
"It's an important period ahead of me – to get as many minutes on the pitch. The football philosophy of this club thereby appeals to me, so I'm happy to be a part of it next season for my personal development."
Achahbar has made only 43 first-team appearances, scoring nine goals – despite making his debut for De Stadionclub as a 17-year-old.
