Hart: Job done, but only just
Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart has lamented a poor conclusion to their campaign, despite finishing in the top four thanks to a 1-1 draw with Swansea City on Sunday.

City needed just a point at the Liberty Stadium to ensure that Manchester United couldn't pip them to fourth place in the standings on the final day of the Premier League season.

André Ayew struck for the swans just before the break to cancel out a fifth-minute opener from Kelechi Iheanacho, which proved to be enough for City to book their place in the Champions League qualifying rounds.

"We needed a point to finish in the top four and we've got that so it doesn't matter how you do it so long as you do.

"It's hard to be too positive after that, but if you class the job being done for finishing fourth then we did what we had to – but we know we've let ourselves down this season.

"The beauty of football is that we have a chance to do it all again next season, but the truth is after being in a good position, we've not finished the season well in the league and it is as simple as that.

"The positives we take from this year are that we reached the Champions League semi-final – which is progress – and we've also won a cup. Now we'll come back again after the summer and have another go."
