Tomas Rosicky and Tim Howard say Arsenal and Everton goodbyes
Tomas Rosicky said goodbye to Arsenal after 10 years

It was a day of farewells and potential farewells in the Premier League as the season came to a close on Sunday.

At Chelsea, Guus Hiddink said goodbye after the end of his second spell in charge.

Defender John Terry, whose future at the club remains uncertain as he is yet to sign a new deal, paid tribute to Hiddink in a post-match speech while also saying he wants to stay at Stamford Bridge.

Tomas Rosicky and Tim Howard were both given guards of honour as they call time on their careers with Arsenal and Everton respectively.

Rosicky is retiring after 10 years with the Gunners while Howard is joining MLS side Colorado Rapids after a decade at Goodison Park.

In a message posted on Twitter earlier in the day, Howard wrote: "I will depart with love in my heart for the greatest of football clubs, the people's club, Everton FC.

"I will always be thankful to so many. Of course, the fans - those who bring such passion and make Everton what it is.

Elsewhere, Newcastle fans did their best to convince Rafa Benitez not to say goodbye.

The Magpies finished the season with a thumping 5-1 win over Spurs but are still going to be playing in the Championship next season.

Benitez is set to decide his future in the next fortnight, with Newcastle fans imploring him to stay during the game.

Speaking after the game, Benitez said: "My heart is obviously telling me yes it is a fantastic opportunity, a fantastic atmosphere, everything is so good that my heart is very clear.

"I said I am quite open and I am quite pleased with everything, the staff, everything, now it's just to be sure that we have to do what we have to do to be sure that we can go up if I say here."
