Chelsea supporters make their feelings known to the club over John Terry

CHELSEA fans have pleaded with the club to sort out the contract mess with captain John Terry.

Defender Terry may have played his last game for the club after he was sent off during the defeat to Sunderland last weekend.

The former England captain is out of contract at the end of the season and the Blues are yet to offer him a new deal.

And with millions on offer for him to move to China or the Middle East, Chelsea supporters made their feelings known during the 1-1 draw at Liverpool.

A huge banner was unfurled at Anfield showing the 14 trophies the club has won with Terry as their captain with the simple message: "With Terry as our captain.....sign him up".

And Blues boss Guus Hiddink revealed he did not know the outcome of Terry's talks with the club earlier in the day.

He said: "Let’s wait and see what happens in the coming days but John is in contact with us every day.

"Of course after such a long career the fans appreciate him highly, highly.

"There was contact today but I have not heard the result of that.

"Hopefully both are wise parties. Let’s hope for the best."

Terry has made no secret of the fact he wants to stay on at Chelsea, claiming he still has another two years of top level football left in him.

Chelsea interim boss Guus Hiddink insists the club have not treated the fans favourite badly despite not having sat down to discuss a new deal for next season.

Terry has been summoned for a meeting by the Stamford Bridge hierachy to decide his fate — but even now it is not clear whether they will offer him a new package or not.

Terry could have played his final match for Chelsea unless a new deal is offered next week

The Blues have insisted all along the final decision over Terry’s future remains with incoming manager Antonio Conte, and though he is an admirer of the defender’s abilities he has one eye on developing his own squad for the future.

If he does leave west London, China appear to be at the head of the queue with the state backed Super League ready to offer a mega-money deal to take Terry to the far east.

The 35-year-old is higely popular in the country and last year embarked on a promotional tour to China where he was greeted as a hero.
