Jamie Vardy is in demand
WEST HAM are considering an audacious move for Jamie Vardy, according to reports.
The Leicester striker was central to their club's incredible triumph this term.
24 Premier League goals helped him to clinch the Football Writers' Association (FWA) award.
Although he only signed a new three-year deal worth £80,000-a-week in February, the 29-year-old has no shortage of admirers.
The London Evening Standard claim West Ham are prepared to test the waters.
It is thought the Hammers are prepared to pay up to £25m for Vardy.
And it is suggested that with a move to the Olympic Stadium, this could attract a certain calibre of player.
Liverpool forward Christian Benteke has also been mooted as a possible target, although his £120,000-a-week wages would prove a stumbling block.
The Hammers bid farewell to Upton Park last night with a 3-2 win over Manchester United.
