Real Madrid ready to replace £65m transfer flop with West Ham star »

According to reports from France Football, Real Madrid are targeting West Ham midfielder Dimitri Payet as a possible replacement for James Rodriguez.

Los Blancos splashed out an incredible £65million on the Colombian international after claiming the Golden Boot award at the 2014 World Cup but he's struggled to impress at the Bernabeu and particularly under Zinedine Zidane.

France Football describe him as a 'possible departure' alongside team-mate Jese, who has managed just seven starts in La Liga so far this season.

And should the under-performing duo leave the Spanish giants this summer, France Football claim Real Madrid could swoop for West Ham's Dimitri Payet to fill the void.

The France international has been a revelation since signing for the Hammers last summer, going on to claim nine goals and ten assists in 29 Premier League appearances.

He signed a new bumper contract in February but may find the allure of the Bernabeu impossible to ignore if Los Blancos make a formal bid this summer.
