Mansfield Town 0 - 0 Cambridge United: Bore draw in Mansfield

Mansfield and Cambridge shared a tame goalless draw at the One Call Stadium to end their seasons.

There were very few chances at either end on a very warm afternoon, with the Stags the better side after the break without being able to make it count.

Cambridge made the early running and forced a succession of corners.

Skipper Luke Berry was not far wide with a low shot on six minutes. In the 15th minute Ryan Ledson sent a powerful volley over the bar from the right after Berry had lifted the ball invitingly for him.

Mansfield gradually worked their way into the contest and thought they had broken through a minute from the break when Matt Green volleyed home from close range, after Ryan Tafazolli headed on an Adam Chapman free-kick, only to be denied by an offside flag.

With bursts forward by home skipper Lee Collins and youth team debutant Zayn Hakeem livening things up for the Stags, they did most of the pressing after the break, but Cambridge defended resolutely for the point.
