Derby County vs Ipswich - Derby looking to extend unbeaten run against Ipswich

Posted Thursday, May 05, 2016 by PA

Derby can extend their six-match unbeaten run when they host Ipswich in the final match of the regular Sky Bet Championship season.

Midfielders Jeff Hendrick (thigh) and Bradley Johnson (knee) are expected to be available for selection after a long spell on the sidelines.

Lee Grant has recovered from a groin injury but will probably take a place on the bench as the goalkeeper has been understudy to Scott Carson for majority of the season.

Will Hughes and Craig Bryson are fit following bouts of cramp during the Brighton game on Monday while Craig Forsyth is likely to miss out despite returning to training following a cruciate ligament injury.

Teddy Bishop could retain his place in Ipswich's central midfield after completing 62 minutes in his first start of the season following long-term hamstring and shin injuries.

Luke Varney is pushing for a recall to the starting XI with the striker scoring the winning goal in the 3-2 defeat of MK Dons after coming off the bench.

Giles Coke has been ruled out for the rest of the campaign and could struggle to recover at the start of pre-season due to his knee injury.

Fellow forwards Daryl Murphy (calf) and Larsen Toure (groin) could miss out because of injury.
