Ayr Utd. vs Airdrie United - Trio return as Ayr host Airdrie

Ayr have Brian Gilmour, Ryan Stevenson and Alan Trouten available when they warm up for the Ladbrokes League One play-offs against top-four chasing Airdrie at Somerset Park.

The trio have all recovered from injury and could feature as United attempt to secure second place, but Jamie Adams is sidelined with a knee injury while Peter Murphy is suspended.

Manager Ian McCall saying: "We have experienced players available again though in their absence we have played well and picked up good results against Stenhousemuir and Peterhead.

"I will need to get the team selection right as Airdrie are coming here with plenty to play for and we do not want to be facing Peterhead in midweek in our first leg after a defeat."

Airdrie will make the play-offs with a victory providing Stranraer do not beat Cowdenbeath, but anything less than three points will definitely end their campaign.

But they must do so without on-loan Rangers midfielder Jordan Thompson, who has an ankle injury, while Jacob Esporito is a doubt.

Temporary Diamonds manager Danny Lennon said: "We put on a terrific performance last Saturday to defeat Dunfermline. It was a really strong, powerful and committed display, particularly in the first half, and we will need a repeat of that to win at Ayr.

"All we can do is win and see if that is enough for us to come out on top of the race for the last play-off spot."
