Leeds United vs Charlton Athletic - Alex Mowatt should make Leeds' clash with Charlton

Posted Thursday, April 28, 2016 by PA

Leeds midfielder Alex Mowatt will return to contention for the home game against Charlton following suspension.

Mowatt has served a three-game ban following his straight red card in the recent win at Birmingham and provides head coach Steve Evans with extra options.

Defender Gaetano Berardi will miss the final two games after damaging ankle ligaments in last Saturday's draw at Hull, while Evans must decide whether to recall centre-half Giuseppe Bellusci, who was left out altogether at the KC Stadium.

Evans, who has no new injury concerns, could hand a start to winger Jordan Botaka, who has impressed off the bench in the previous two matches.

Relegated Charlton are still without Patrick Bauer and Reza Ghoochannejhad.

Defender Bauer has an ankle injury and striker Ghoochannejhad a hamstring problem, although he has begun running outside to step up his recovery.

Goalkeeper Stephen Henderson is still struggling with a calf problem but midfielder Ahmed Kashi is close to returning from an Achilles injury.

Club captain Johnnie Jackson will be hoping to return to the starting line-up after dropping to the bench for last weekend's defeat by Brighton.
