York City vs Bristol Rovers - Bristol City midfielder Korey Smith out for rest of season after ankle surgery

Bristol City are without Korey Smith for their final Sky Bet Championship home game of the season against Huddersfield.

Smith was suspended after being sent off in the 2-2 draw at Blackburn, but the midfielder will now miss the rest of the season following ankle surgery.

Adam Matthews (hamstring) is also definitely out, and fellow defender Aden Flint (knee) might not be risked.

Robins boss Lee Johnson is likely to give a few fringe players an opportunity after his team secured their Championship status last weekend.

Huddersfield midfielder Jonathan Hogg could return to the squad after missing 10 matches due to a knee injury.

Hogg recently returned to full training and is hoping to feature again before the end of the campaign, but head coach David Wagner may opt not to rush him back into action.

Fellow midfielder Philip Billing's calf strain will be assessed after he missed last week's 1-1 home draw against Birmingham.

Joe Murphy remains sidelined and will be out of action until October after having shoulder surgery, so Aston Villa loanee Jed Steer will continue in goal.
