20-goal strike sensation tipped for Liverpool or Spurs transfer

Liverpool icon Steve Nicol believes Marseille frontman Michy Batshuayi will sign for either Liverpool or Tottenham Hotspur during the summer transfer window.

The 22-year-old has been in phenomenal form this season, netting twenty goals across all competitions and producing 15 strikes and nine set-ups in the French top flight.

That has cast serious doubts over his future at Stade Velodrome, with Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur amongst the clubs courting his signature according to Football Insider.

And Anfield favourite Steve Nicol, who made 343 league appearances for Liverpool between 1981 and 1994, believes one of the Premier League duo will end up signing the 5 foot 11 striker during the summer transfer window.

He sees a move to Merseyside as particularly likely, with Batshuayi potentially coming in as a replacement for international team-mate Christian Benteke.

The Belgian battering ram completed a £32.5million transfer to Anfield last summer but has struggled for form in a Liverpool jersey, netting just eight times across all competitions.

Nicol told ESPN regarding Batshuayi; "He's an up and coming player, he's an international, he's only 22, he's got ability, and he scores goals.

"I think there's a good possibility he goes to Liverpool over Spurs. I think there's a good chance this kid goes to Liverpool as one Belgian will go out in Benteke, and another will come in, in Batshuayi."
