Antonio Conte wants £27m Chelsea flop BACK at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea were all too happy to let Juan Cuadrado play his 2015-16 football elsewhere, and fast-tracked a loan deal to Juventus early in the season. Amidst a rather successful stint for the Colombian winger in Italy, there have been many suggestions that Cuadrado will be sold by Chelsea at some point. But the Chelsea flop won’t be going anywhere if new boss Antonio Conte has anything to say about it.

According to Fichajes [per the Daily Star], the Italy manager is “keen” to keep Cuadrado at Stamford Bridge and wants the club to avoid selling him to Juventus before Conte heads it to England after Euro 2016.

The Blues paid £27 million to Fiorentina for Cuadrado in the middle of the 2014-15 season, but it proved to be a poor fit and Jose Mourinho only played him 13 times in the Premier League before loaning him out to the Old Lady.

In 15 total appearances for Chelsea, Cuadrado made just four starts and did not record a single goal or assist for the Blues. However, upon switching to Juventus, the 27-year-old re-emerged as a solid attacker, scoring five goals and adding five assists between Serie A and the Champions League.
