Relegated Dagenham dented Plymouth's Sky Bet League Two promotion hopes with a surprise 3-2 win at Home Park.
The Pilgrims were eyeing automatic promotion after back-to-back wins at Portsmouth and Leyton Orient but were undone by John Still's side who stunned their hosts by taking three of their four first-half chances.
Central defender Clevid Dikamona powered home a close-range header from a 13th-minute Matty Cash corner.
Cash then beat Argyle keeper Luke McCormick from 25 yards with a superb rising 24th-minute strike into the top corner.
Christian Doidge headed the visitors 3-0 up from a free-kick four minutes before the break as Plymouth again defended poorly.
Defender Peter Hartley headed in Graham Carey's 64th-minute corner as Plymouth began to pile on the pressure in the second half.
And Argyle clawed another goal back with five minutes remaining when Carey curled home a strike into the far corner from an acute angle.
In the final minute winger Gregg Wylde had a shot cleared off the line but the defeat leaves Plymouth three points adrift of third-placed Oxford with just two games remaining.
