Deal confirmed: Man Utd announce official agreement following Ed Woodward’s approval

The Red Devils have endured a frustrating campaign under Louis van Gaal with the Dutchman under pressure to secure FA Cup glory and a top four-finish to potentially save his job.

And while it’s unclear who will be in charge of United next season, plans behind the scenes are already taking place.

The club have made a cash agreement with finance company Swissquote, which will see them advertise pitchside during Premier League, FA Cup and Capital One Cup matches.

Executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is said have been the man behind completing the deal.

United’s group managing director Richard Arnold said: “We are delighted Swissquote has not only extended its partnership with us, but enhanced its offering to our global family of 659m followers.

''In a short space of time we have already achieved a lot together, thanks in no small part to what we have in common - always looking to innovate and be industry leaders.

''We have recently secured some new and exciting partnerships.

''However, it is equally important for our long-term success that we enhance our relationship with existing partners.

''In this case, Swissquote understands the true value of working with us, having had first-hand experience of what the partnership can achieve.”

Swissquote chief executive and co-founder Marc Burki added: “We’re delighted to announce an extension to our global partnership, uniting with the world’s most popular football club, Manchester United.

''The new deal reflects the ongoing success in the development of our global brand, particularly in our key markets such as the Middle East and Asia.”

And according to the Daily Star, the deal will help finance some big money-moves this summer.

United have been linked with a host of international stars that they will attempt to bring to Old Trafford in the transfer window.

Recent reports suggest they are planning a £90million raid for Everton duo Romelu Lukaku and John Stones.
