Gillingham vs Shrewsbury Town - Andrew Crofts in frame for Gills return

Posted Friday, April 22, 2016 by PA

Andrew Crofts could return to the Gillingham side for their League One clash with Shrewsbury.

The midfielder missed Tuesday's draw with Rochdale, the Gills' fifth match in a row without a win, because of a hamstring problem.

Jake Hessenthaler limped off late on in the game because of cramp but should be available while manager Justin Edinburgh is waiting on the injured trio of Doug Loft, Dominic Samuel and George Williams.

Bradley Dack and John Egan, both of whom were named in the League One PFA Team of the Year, have shown no ill effects from a busy schedule since returning from injury and should feature again.

Jermaine Grandison could be fit for Shrewsbury after missing their last three games.

The defender has been troubled by a hip injury but has returned to training this week ahead of the trip to Kent.

Fellow defender Mickey Demetriou is out for the rest of the season with a knee injury having played just once for the club this season.

Shrewsbury are two points above the Sky Bet League One relegation zone with a game in hand.
